He is currently affiliated with the University of Western Australia as an Associate Professor in AI, Data Science, and Digital Transformation.

His research, consultation, and teaching experience are embedded in understanding the application of artificial intelligence and big data in enhancing organisational efficiency and managerial decision making, government policy and decision making, with enhanced community impact.

His work has been highlighted by Forbes, The World Economic Forum, The UN Human Settlements Programme – Managing Smart City Governance, the World Health Organisation (WHO) – Urban Resilience policy, BBC and The ABC, among others. His combined readership for the Conversation articles is 132,000+ across the world (UK, US, Australia, France).

He has won over AU$5 million in research grants including from the European Union (Horizon Program), the Western Australian and New Zealand Governments.
